QUO FILMS is a newly launched independent production company (2023) founded by producer Hiba Louis and director Gilbert Karam aiming at supporting independent filmmakers with authentic and impactful stories in their pockets.

QUO FILMS was named after the company’s first TV project in development “Status Quo”. The project succeeded in winning big internationally, thanks to the power of authenticity.

HIBA LOUIS

CO-FOUNDER – CEO – PRODUCER
HIBA LOUIS is an independent producer born in 1991, co-founder of Quo Films, producing her first TV thriller ‘STATUS QUO’ supported by Red Sea Film Foundation and Doha Film Institute, winner of the Paramount+ Storytellers Award at CF&E, Toledo Spain and BTF Media Award, Miami USA. Hiba underwent the Qumra Series Lab in 2022 and has been selected for MEMI x USC in 2023.

GILBERT KARAM

CO-FOUNDER – CFO – PRODUCER – DIRECTOR
Gilbert Karam is a film director and screenwriter from Beirut with an MA in Film Directing from the Lebanese University. His award-winning short ALNAJMA (2020) was nominated for 17 international festivals. He wrote and directed an episode of the award-winning series I AM BEIRUT (2021) through the Intuitive Film Lab led by Muriel Aboulrouss. His debut TV series STATUS QUO (2022), supported by DFI, won the Paramount+ Award and the BTF Media Award at Conecta Fiction & Entertainment. The project was selected to participate in the MEMI x USC School of Cinematic Arts at the RedSea International Film Festival.

MURIEL ABOULROUSS

CREATIVE CONSULTANT – DIRECTOR – CINEMATOGRAPHER
Muriel Aboulrouss, is an award-winning cinematographer from Beirut Lebanon. Her numerous cinematography credits include also award winning documentaries: “The oil spill”, “Lesson in History” and “Marcedes” and “Ya Omri” all by Hady Zaccak; She also won Best cinematography at the Arab Screen International Awards for “The shower”, a short film by Michel Kamoun, with whom she also shot his first feature film: Falafel (Best Film at Namur Film Festival 2006).
